Pentaduo — Privacy Policy

Pentaduo is private by default. We don't run any servers we control, we don't have user accounts, and we don't collect, store, sell, or share your personal information. There is no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking in the app.

What data the app uses, and where it stays

• On your device. Your settings, match history, daily-challenge results, puzzle progress, stats, and an automatic archive of your finished single-player games (used only for the in-app "export game archive" feature) are stored locally on your device.
• In your private iCloud (optional). If you're signed into iCloud with iCloud enabled for Pentaduo, that same gameplay data syncs across your devices through your own private iCloud database (Apple's CloudKit). It lives in your iCloud account; we have no access to it. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Game Center (optional). If you use leaderboards and achievements, Apple's Game Center shows your Game Center nickname and your scores on global leaderboards and records your achievement progress. Apple handles this under Apple's Privacy Policy; the app only submits your scores and reads public rankings.
• Daily Challenge winning boards (public). When you win the Daily Challenge while signed into Game Center, your finished board layout, your Game Center nickname and player ID, your score, and the difficulty/moves/time of that win are published to a shared public iCloud (CloudKit) database so other players can view the day's top scorers' boards and study their strategy. This is the only data Pentaduo makes publicly visible to other players in the app. Only a winning first attempt's board is published; losing boards, practice replays, and your other gameplay data stay private. Separately, to keep the one-scored-attempt-per-day rule fair across a player's own devices, your first attempt each day also writes a small technical record (the date, your Game Center player ID, your score, and whether you won) to the same shared public database. It contains no board and is used only to prevent duplicate score submissions. To avoid both, sign out of Game Center before playing the Daily Challenge.
• Multiplayer (optional). When you play Nearby (local) or Online multiplayer, your display name and your in-game moves are sent directly to the other player's device(s) to run the match — over the local network (Nearby) or through Game Center (Online). Nothing is routed through a server we control.
• Reminders (optional). If you turn on daily reminders, the notifications are scheduled on your device. Nothing leaves your device to enable them.

What we never collect

• Your name, email, contacts, photos, or location.
• Advertising identifiers or any cross-app tracking data.
• Analytics or usage telemetry of any kind.

Children's privacy

Pentaduo does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Game Center and iCloud features are controlled by the device's Apple ID and Screen Time settings.

Your choices

• Turn off iCloud sync for Pentaduo in Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
• Disable Game Center in Settings → Game Center (this also stops any Daily Challenge winning board from being published).
• Turn off reminders in the app's settings.
• Deleting the app removes its on-device data; anything already synced to your iCloud is managed in your iCloud settings.
